So far, married life is great, although my hubby works nights and I work days so basically we never see each other. But that's about to change as he got on a day/evening shift at the hospital so we'll actually get to be awake together occasionally.

I miss this, so I am going to give it another shot.

I'm feeling a little un-blog-spired lately. Finding a way to follow up my 70.3 and massive road trip has left me without much to say this summer. Maybe I'll set the bar low and start blogging about what I'm eating or just whine about how hard it is to train for a marathon in the heat of summer. At least I'd get back at it.

It is hard to believe what a year it has been. A year ago, I started this blog as a way to process the craziness of finishing my dissertation, searching for a job, dating for the sake of dating, and everything else in this crazy thing called life. I don't know why I decided to put it all out there on the internets. But I'm glad I did.

A year ago, I had just had my first big-girl college prof interview. I didn't get that job, which is ok, because I got one 3 miles from home. Can't beat that.

A year ago, I was dating someone that was not right for me. He was sweet, though, so I felt guilty letting him go. But it was good that I did. Not that I've met someone that is right, and I'm losing faith that I will. But I'm happier without Mr. Wrong than I'd be with him.

A year ago, I had no idea what it would really be like to write a dissertation. I thought I did, but I was a little naive about how awful May-August would turn out to be. That said, a year ago, I was Ms. Kelly. And now I'm Dr.

Sorry I missed your birthday, blog. It's not that I don't love you. I'm having a tough time staying above water this month. I'll remember you on time next year. Promise.
